Farrah's KDO Christmas play

This year at KDO, Farrah had her first Christmas play.  It was so sweet!  Her teacher, Ms. Margaret, told me that Farrah was going to play the role Mary.  Ms. Margaret told me she tried to get Farrah to be an angel because it had more speaking parts.  Farrah really wanted to be Mary so Ms. Margaret said ok.

I asked Farrah why she wanted to be Mary so badly and she said, "Guess who's playing Joseph?  Jack!" Farrah's best friend is Jack....the same Jack who kissed Farrah last year at KDO.  These two are so funny to watch together!  Jack's mom, Dana and I think its adorable but the dads aren't so sure....haha!

Aren't they just the CUTEST!!!!

Farrah did a great job as the role of Mary!  She worked hard on memorizing her lines.  I was nervous she would get scared with all the parents watching her but she didn't.  I can't wait to watch more Christmas plays in her future!

Starting to look like Christmas....

I started decorating for Christmas very early this year.  It was actually the weekend of Halloween...haha!  Our Christmas last year was a little depressing.  We had just sold our house and were living in this tiny apartment at Christmas.  I wasn't able to decorate any trees because our apartment was so small.  I made up for it this year!  This year I decorated three trees.  I hoping next year to add another tree!

Here is the main tree.  I love it more and more every year!

My mantel is a little bigger in this house so next year I'll have a longer mantel piece.  I bought these stockings two years ago and just love them!

This is our guest room tree.  The color in this room is grey and white so I went with a snowman theme.  I've had these snowmen since we've been married.  I never could part with them and I'm so glad I didn't!

This year I let Farrah choose her tree and she choose pink...not surprising!!  She LOVES it but makes sure it's turned off at night.  She can't stand to have any lights on to sleep.

My favorite Nativity scene!

Farrah's Nativity scene.

I love looking at how much Farrah has grown and changed over the years with Santa.....

Thanksgiving 2013

We had a great Thanksgiving!  We have so much to be thankful for.  We have an incredible family, a warm house, James' job that he loves and so much more.  This Thanksgiving was really put into perspective when my cousin's little girl had to have surgery.  Allison had to have a brain surgery which required the doctors to detach the whole left hemisphere of her brain.  Allison has had so many seizures in a day that it took drastic measures but the good news is is that she is talking more then she ever has, she's sucking through a straw and she hasn't had a seizure in 17 days!! She is learning to walk all over again and is having lot of physical therapy and speech therapy....she is truly a blessing and its been such a blessing to watch her fight.  She is the strongest  and happiest little girl I've ever seen!

A couple of weeks ago, Farrah had her Thanksgiving lunch at KDO.  She was pretty excited to have mom come visit her at lunch.  I loved seeing the Pilgrims and Indians.

We had James' family over for Thanksgiving this year and the day before my curtains came in....I was VERY excited about that.  Poor James had to hang them at 9 o'clock at night.

Before

After

It amazes me how curtains can change a room!

We had a wonderful day with our families.  We had a great time seeing everyone and loving on my Meme.  She amazes me...she baked three homemade pies and she's 93!  She loves baking for us and we love eating it...haha!

So thankful for these two!

Snow Day!

It's crazy to think we're getting our first snow for the year....its pretty early.  Not very often do we get snow before Thanksgiving!

After we warmed up we played inside, we painted, read books and watched movies.  I was running out of ideas so the only thing left was to paint finger and toe nails....

Such a fun snow day and the best part was not having to go anywhere!

Dallas fun!

Last weekend we surprised Farrah with a weekend getaway to Dallas.  She knew we were going to Dallas but she didn't know what we were going to be doing in Dallas.  Farrah is such a great traveler but this trip I think she was so excited to get there that by the time we made it to Abilene she had asked us at least ten times if we were there yet....haha!

Friday night we had tickets to Farrah's band The Fresh Beat Band and she had no idea.  Over dinner I explained what we were going to be doing and she just sat there.  She said she was excited but her response told us differently.  She sat there for a few minutes and said "Are you going to come back and pick me up?"  Poor thing thought we were going to leave her there all by herself.  After we told her we were all going to the concert she was super excited!

She was so fun to watch.  At first she just sat there watching and taking it all in but it didn't take her long to get out of her seat and dance and sing the night away.  Afterwards she kept saying "Thank you so much!  I want to do that again!"

On Saturday, we pretty much shopped and ate!  We went to our favorite stores, mine Anthropology and James' Bass Pro.  We ate at our favorite spots....Bread Winners and Cheesecake Factory.

We had a great family getaway!  Thankfully we'll go back to Dallas for Christmas and have more fun!

Soccer....Fall 2013

This Fall, Farrah wanted to play soccer again so we signed up with the same team we were on in the Spring.  Her coach, Chad, is so great with all these girls.  He really pushes them and makes sure they do their best.

In the Spring, it took Farrah a couple of games to figure out soccer.  This season she really excelled!  The very first game we told her that if she scored one goal we would buy her ice cream.  Her response "I want to buy something!"  We told her that she had to score five goals to be able to buy something and she said "Ok."  The very first game she scored six goals, so she got to buy something AND have ice cream.

Every game her goal was to get five goals and most games she would score five goals and a couple she scored three.  Her last game she had her highest scoring game.....SEVEN GOALS!!!  For the season she scored a total of thirty-one goals!! She had such a blast this season and we were so happy she enjoyed it.

We were blessed with a team that has such great families.  All the families encourage and cheer on the girls.  The last game we had one little girl who hadn't scored the last two seasons and she scored her very first goal!  All the parents went crazy and cheering for her.....it was the sweetest moment!

Our goal is to have this team stay together as long as we can.  We know we will loose one or two but for the most part we really want to stay together as a team.  The best part is all the girls really enjoy each other!

After the season was over her team met at Main Event for some fun!

So proud of this girl!

Halloween 2014

This year Halloween was so much fun!  Farrah chose to me Minnie Mouse this year.  We were kinda glad it wasn't a princess....haha!!  At KDO, they had crazy hair day.  Farrah was not excited about this at all!  She wanted nothing to do with crazy hair day so I talked her into doing pig tails with mismatched bows.

Our church had a trunk or treat Wednesday night so we started there.  Farrah liked going to all the cars but I think she liked the jumpers more.  We were at church for about fifteen minutes before it started raining.  Farrah was able to do all that she wanted to do before it started pouring so that was good for her.  We talked her into hot chocolate and that made us all happy.

After we got home that night Farrah spread out all her candy and started taking inventory.  She is so much like her daddy!!   Farrah was pretty excited about her candy and even more excited to eat it.

On Thursday, we went to some friends house and let Farrah knock on the door....she wasn't so sure about this part.  She liked the candy part but didn't like saying Trick or Treat.  After that we headed to Levelland to my parents church and James' family.

At mom and dad's church they had their trunk or treat but this year they added a petting zoo and it was a big hit!  Farrah liked feeding and petting the animals but she wasn't so sure about the camel.  She actually but food in her hand and fed the camel.  After she fed the camel she said., "I didn't like that!"  I asked her why and she said "Those camels lips were nasty!"  She talked about this all night!

Farrah ask's about her adoption

I was looking through all the pictures on my phone the other day and decided I needed to post them so I woundn't forget. Farrah is at such a fun age right now.

She's really putting things together right now. The other night we were eating dinner and Farrah was asking about moms. "Nana, is you mom, mommy and Lula is daddy's mom....right?" "Yes honey"...then she surprised us both with saying "I have two moms. I have a birth mom and my real mom." James looked at her and told her..."Yes, baby your right." I was to emotional to speak at the moment. Emotional, because we are proud of where she came from and we want her to be as well. We've always wanted Farrah to know that she was adopted. We never wanted it to be a secret because we felt that that was apart of her story and her journey. We have books that we read that talks about adoption and I tell her about her birth mom. Up until now she has never asked or even spoken about it. I just thought it hadn't clicked yet or she did quite understand yet. It taught me a lesson though....your children are listening and watching, even when you think they're not.

Farrah hasn't said anything else about her adoption but she is asking about when she's going to get a little brother or sister. I asked her the other day if she wanted mom to have a baby in her tummy or adopt and she said "Adopt!" I asked her why and she told me "Daddy, doesn't want your tummy big! He would be mad!" I just started laughing and told her "That daddy DOES want mommy's tummy big." She's not convinced...haha!!

Now for the photo display...

A couple of weeks ago we saw our friends from the UK, Norman and Grace Barnes.  They were such a vital part in praying for Farrah to come and her adoption.  We were sad to hear that they will come to the states one more time next year and then retire in the UK.  We have plans to see them when they're here for an anniversary celebration.

Farrah's BFF's, Molly and Jack.  These three are so fun together!

Farrah started dance last week and was so excited to find out that Heather was going to be her teacher and her friend, Selah was in her class.

This picture cracks me up....Farrah wanted to go outside and play.  She had morning chores to do before she could play outside but decided she didn't want to.  So this was her reaction....haha!!

Farrah loves playing in my bathtub.  She was giving her babies a bath in my "swimming pool."

Farrah has been doing great a soccer this season!  She scored five goals this last game and for the season so far she has scored 19 goals!!
