It'a a new day...

What a crazy day!! This afternoon I had to take our dog Riley to the vet. What a chore! To have an eight month and a fifty pound dog all by myself...I know one thing for sure, I don't want to do that again for a very long time!! I needed to get into the vet ASAP because Riley was in pretty bad shape and the only time I could go was during nap time so you can only imagine. So while at the vet, Riley got tangled up in the stroller I don't know how many times and Farrah was fussy to add to it all. Riley gets to have surgery on Wednesday for a lot of different reasons. We bred her two times and had some really great big litters and we were thinking we needed to her her fixed because she is getting to old to have anymore puppies. Last year she was diagnosed with the dog version of breast cancer. We had the tumor drained and were told to just watch for anything else. So last month she had her heat cycle and two weeks later she developed these masses on every mammary gland. So on Wednesday she gets to have every mammary gland removed and we have to have her fixed. This is hard because this is James' first hunting dog and she is a wonderful pet. She is so gentle and great with all my nieces and nephews. It was going to be a hard decision to have the surgery or to put her down because we just don't want her to suffer but our vet, who we love, assures us that Riley will be just fine. Thank goodness!!

This is a big stress for me because of the money. All I have to say is God is so good!! We have been "patients" with our vet for eleven years now and he is giving us a huge discount!! The surgery could of ended up costing us $700-$800 and we are only going to be out a little less the $200. What a blessing!!

We were leaving the vet and I was putting Farrah in her car seat which she has all of a sudden decided that she doesn't like. And I noticed.......two teeth!! Now the fussiness makes sense. I'm gong to miss that toothless grin but what a fun new chapter in her life. She has been up to a lot lately. She is rolling everywhere! She pulled herself up to a stand on the coffee table. We moved the table out! The other day I was in the kitchen washing bottles and she was real quiet and I went to peek in on her and she pulled herself up to a stand against the couch! She was so proud of herself. This little girl makes me smile!! She is so close to crawling. She gets on all fours and rocks back and forth. She will go backwards but hasn't figured out the forward motion. She will be crawling in no time. James and I were talking about her the other night and how fun Christmas is going to be this year. I'm sure she will get lots of no's for touching the tree. I do have one question though...How do you get on to your child without laughing?? I will tell her no and she starts laughing and "winking" at me. How can I resist that?? Oh so sweet that little girl!

Here's another random thought. After I'm done typing I go back and proof read and it cracks me up how hick I am and how many typos I have. I want to have a post that I don't proof and see how many laugh's I can get from it. Am I that only one that does this??
